Understanding the elements of a successful nonprofit Board of Directors is key to empowering members and staff, strengthening leadership and building a culture of excellence.
This interactive workshop will explore the core components of effective Board development, including recruitment, governance policies, productive meetings and fostering accountability and engagement. Participants will gain practical insights and real-world strategies to strengthen Board leadership and better support their organization’s mission.

Prepared to Serve: A Faith-Based Disaster Preparedness Workshop
Prepared to Serve: A Faith-Based Disaster Workshop will equip church and faith-based leaders with the tools and strategies needed to respond effectively when disaster strikes.
This interactive session will explore the vital role houses of worship play in parish volunteer and donations plans, introduce the VOAD coordination model, and offer hands-on mapping and planning activities. Participants will leave with a practical Church Readiness Checklist and clear next steps for engaging in future disaster coordination efforts.
This workshop is made possible through partnerships with Volunteer Louisiana, Bayou Community Foundation, Terrebonne Parish Consolidated Government and Bayou Area Regional Recovery (BARR).
