ANCHOR the Bayou: Ripple Pilot Grants

ANCHOR the Bayou, a program of Bayou Community Foundation, is a community-driven initiative focused on strengthening long-term resilience in South Lafourche and South Terrebonne. Through community listening, engagement, and collaboration, ANCHOR brings residents, organizations, and community leaders together to identify local strengths, challenges, and opportunities and develop strategies for a stronger, more resilient future. Bayou Community Foundation is pleased to announce two grant tracks for our ANCHOR the Bayou Ripple Pilot Grants Program:

  • ANCHOR Ripple Pilot Project Grants – Up to $10,000 to support a new or expanded project which addresses one or more of the identified ANCHOR Strategic Plan Priorities for South Lafourche and South Terrebonne
  • ANCHOR Ripple Pilot Capacity Grants – Up to $5,000 to support organizations in strengthening internal capacity, systems, and processes needed to more effectively address an ANCHOR Strategic Plan Priority in South Lafourche and/or South Terrebonne.

GRANT APPLICATIONS ARE ACCEPTED from Monday, September 21, 2026 – Wednesday, October 21, 2026 on the BCF grants portal.

Applications are open from September 21 – October 21, 2026

Who Can Apply?

To be eligible for consideration, grant applicants must:

  • Be a 501(c)(3) organization or other tax-exempt public organization public education/government institution in good standing serving residents of Lafourche and Terrebonne Parishes.  “Good standing” means that the IRS currently acknowledges the organization as tax exempt, and state registration is current. Organization must also be registered with the LA Secretary of State.
  • Serve residents of South Lafourche and/or South Terrebonne
    • South Lafourche is defined as Larose, Cut Off, Galliano, Golden Meadow and Leeville
    • South Terrebonne is defined  as Terrebonne Parish below the Intracoastal Canal.
  • Have staff and/or volunteers working withing Lafourche and Terrebonne Parish; local program management; local leadership in the form of a board of directors or advisory committee; and local financial support. 

Only one grant request will be accepted from each organization.

What We Fund:

Projects must serve South Lafourche and/or South Terrebonne, address an ANCHOR Priority and align with the ANCHOR the Bayou Strategic Plan.

South Lafourche is defined as Larose, Cut Off, Galliano, Golden Meadow and Leeville.
South Terrebonne is defined  as Terrebonne Parish below the Intracoastal Canal.

  2. Education to Career Pathways
  3. Spaces and Programming for Youth and Families
  4. Mental Health and Healthcare Services
  5. Disaster and Hazard Preparedness
  6. Community Connection and Access

Important Dates

  • Applications Open: September 21, 2026
  • Application Deadline: October 21, 2026
  • Review Period: October 21-November 30, 2026
  • Award Notifications: December 2026
  • Grant Agreements: December 2026
  • Grant Funding Period & Project Implementation: January 1 – November 30, 2027
  • Final Report Due: December 2027
