Upcoming Events and Meetings:

Bayou Community Foundation invites you to join us for our upcoming Working Group on Hunger meeting.

📅  Thursday, June 4
🕑 2:00 – 3:30 PM
📍 Beacon Light Baptist Church of Houma – 4325 West Park Ave, Gray

This meeting will feature a special visit from our USDA representatives Doug Mckean and Ellie Manaseri to provide updates, training and advise on best practices.

The meeting will also serve as our annual Food Distribution Partner Disaster Preparedness and Emergency planning session. We will discuss what we can expect in the event of an emergency, who do we contact and how do we best work together to meet the needs of
our community during a time of emergency.

This discussion will be led by Margie McGowen from Second Harvest Food Bank Bayou Warehouse, Scott Belanger and Cheryl Skinner from Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Houma-Thibodaux, and Daisy Cheramie from Terrebonne Churches United Food Bank.

This meeting is the perfect time to bring your questions, and your organizations own resources to the table so that we can collaborate to meet the needs of our neighbors when they need us most!

If your organization has any updates or announcements and would like to be added to the agenda, please let us know in advance by emailing me at Kati@BayouCF.org or calling 985-219-0048.

Past Working Group on Hunger Meeting Agendas:

Working Together to End Hunger:

The Bayou Region Working Group on Hunger is a Bayou Community Foundation Project in collaboration with local food banks, pantries, nonprofits and government agencies to address the critical issue of food insecurity in our community.

The Working Group on Hunger is the direct result of a critical action item developed at the 2023 Bayou Region Hunger Summit, coordinated by Bayou Community Foundation, to help organizations learn about the services each provide, share resources, and better inform the community about food resources that are available.

Representatives of Bayou Region food banks and pantries, and other nonprofits and government agencies who serve residents who are food insecure are invited to join us for Working Group on Hunger meetings held regularly throughout the year.

For more information on the Working Group on Hunger, email Community Impact Officer Kati Lee at Kati@BayouCF.org or call 985-219-0048.
