Upcoming Events and Meetings:

Bayou Community Foundation invites you to join us for our upcoming Working Group on Hunger meeting.

📅 Tuesday, February 10, 2026
🕑 2:00 – 3:30 PM
📍 Hope Center -18100 E Main St, Galliano

This meeting will feature a tour of Hope Center’s Food Distribution facility, and updates from Second Harvest, Catholic Community Center and other South Lafourche food distribution sites about new, expanded or modified operations.

We will also hear from Becky Gautreaux, LSU AgCenter Nutrition & Community Health Agent, as she presents opportunities to strengthen our local food systems through policy, system and environmental improvements that make the healthy choice the easy choice, including potential grant funding support through the LSU AgCenter.

During the meeting, we will set aside time for South Lafourche food distribution sites and food bank leaders to ask questions of, seek assistance from or offer help to one another, with the goal of strengthening partnerships and supporting our shared mission to address food insecurity.

BCF will also provide updates on BayouHelp.org and the Bayou Region Food Bank Directory.  If your organization has any updates or announcements and would like to be added to the agenda, please let us know in advance by emailing me at Kati@BayouCF.org or calling 985-219-0048.

Past Working Group on Hunger Meeting Agendas:

Working Together to End Hunger:

The Bayou Region Working Group on Hunger is a Bayou Community Foundation Project in collaboration with local food banks, pantries, nonprofits and government agencies to address the critical issue of food insecurity in our community.

The Working Group on Hunger is the direct result of a critical action item developed at the 2023 Bayou Region Hunger Summit, coordinated by Bayou Community Foundation, to help organizations learn about the services each provide, share resources, and better inform the community about food resources that are available.

Representatives of Bayou Region food banks and pantries, and other nonprofits and government agencies who serve residents who are food insecure are invited to join us for Working Group on Hunger meetings held regularly throughout the year.

For more information on the Working Group on Hunger, email Community Impact Officer Kati Lee at Kati@BayouCF.org or call 985-219-0048.

Bayou Region Food Bank Directory:

BCF’s Food Bank Directory connects individuals and families with local food resources across the Bayou Region. This easy-to-use tool includes locations, hours, and contact information for food pantries, meal programs, and distribution sites supported by trusted community partners. Whether you’re looking for immediate assistance or want to help someone in need, the directory is designed to guide you to the nearest available support.

If your food bank/pantry would like to be added to our distribution map and directory OR needs to update your information, please fill out the form HERE or contact Community Impact Officer Kati Lee at 985-219-0048 or Kati@BayouCF.org.
